Harcum Fashion Talks to Philly City Council

On June 16, 2022, the Philadelphia Fashion & Garment Industry Task Force (PFGITF) presented a report to members of the Philadelphia City Council requesting further funding and support for the Philadelphia fashion industry. Testimonies were offered by various fashion and garment professionals — including Julian Crooks, Director of Harcum College's Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising programs. "Philly is a vital, exciting city that has the potential to grow as an industry center," she reported. "It offers great creative energy while being more affordable than New York. Initiatives like the Task Force can help this renaissance to happen." Harcum Fashion faculty members Camille Avent, Prajjé Oscar, and Angela Edmunds also provided testimony.
